Need kids to eat their veggies? Check this out. Most of my life I have lived and worked in a downscaled kitchen. I am not, by nature, a gadget person. I like counters cleaned off and uncluttered kitchen cupboards.
My family and I even went through a time where we had an ‘Epic’ yard sale, sold everything that we could that had a cord to it, and unplugged for about 6 months!
What an experience that was. . . .but that is for another post at another time.
Since then, I have turned my attention toward the kitchen. Food prep. Gluten-free and Paleo foods, really, as grain-free as we can.
We know the importance of healthy grass-fed meats, but what we really have wanted to increase in our diets are vegetables. Lots of vegetables. Orange, red, yellow, green and even purple colors waiting for the right basting, seasonings, mode of cooking.
Veggies are exciting! So many textures, so many possibilities . . . for me. But what about for the younger generation who would rather eat a cookie? Or mac and cheese? Or a sandwich?
We need to reinvent the Vegetable, or at least its appearance.
I have wanted more and more to move away from the same old recipes I have used for years, cooked the same old ways.
I want new. Fresh. Exciting.
Meet one of the coolest kitchen aids out there right now that will infuse life into your meals!
There are many, and I mean many choices of these amazing and fun gadgets our there. But this particular one is decently priced, has great reviews, and comes with the option of two to eight blades.
Meet the Paderno Spiralizer.
This baby will take your vegetables from good to great. The famous Spruce Eats rates it number 1.
Even kids love the spiralizer. Though due to the sharp blades I recommend kids use this with adult supervision only.
Its features are that it can be purchased with as few as two or as many as eight blades. It holds its own with the variations that can be created: thin, thick, extra thin, accordion, ripple, curls and wavy.
The blades are stainless steel and the rest is BPA free. It has a special brush that helps make cleaning the blades an easy task.
I know, I sound like a commercial, but I am not even selling it!
The Paderno is listed as commercial-grade, and I know it can hold its own.
A spiralizer that I had tried a few years ago was a dismal failure. It couldn’t hold any dense vegetables. This one has a pin, so they stay on much easier.
Wow! Plain made fancy.
Ordinary made extraordinary.
We all know the importance of eating our veggies!
The answer most of us have to ‘Need your kids to eat their veggies?’ is a resounding yes! In fact, most of us do.
In our home, my daughter is gluten-free and my husband Paleo. I want to do way more with vegetables. Vegetables heal, they fill a need our bodies have and help boost our immune system.
The spiralizer can add a new dimension by creating new texture as well as making meals so visually appealing.
Easy to use. With so many of us moving toward a way healthier diet, I couldn’t help but pass this on. A 2019 favorite for sure.
There is a powerful movement to natural healthy eating. 2019 is my year to revamp my outdated kitchen and take advantage of modern inventions and technology.
That may sound funny from someone who lives on a ‘homestead’, but here’s to modern homesteading!
One more note – I am not an affiliate and I do not earn any money selling this item. I just thought it would be a great intro. into my ebook that will be coming out this fall.
