Perched on a windswept hill in central Maine, our farm is presently home to four cats, too many dogs, beautiful plants and trees, and three humans. We think there is little more satisfying than returning to our roots – to a simpler way of living. It’s that way of living we want to share with you.
Ours, however, has a twist to it. We are a gluten-free homestead. No wheat. Ever. Not in the animal feed, not in the dog food, not in family get-togethers.
A challenge? Sure is. But what in life that is worth pursuing isn’t a challenge?
There’s a beauty in cultivating God’s earth, in taking the slow path. There’s merit in preserving our heritage. Homesteading sustainably is far from glamorous and it is far from easy. But it is good.
What will you find here? How-to’s, recipes (lots), from vegan to Paleo and everything in between.
The basics on canning, dehydrating, organic gardening as well as living frugally ~ living life to the fullest possible measure.
We’ll share with you our adventures, our victories as well as our struggles.
Mostly, I want to encourage you to follow your dream. You are the architect – create your blueprint, and plan concrete steps to achieve your goals.
If I can do this, (and I am just beginning), then anyone can.
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” Jerm 6:16
